First off: 50 minute delay. Business women frighten me, as I was constantly having to dodge them as they almost ran you over with purpose. Our plane was flown by a female pilot. It’s no big deal, it’s just the first time I’ve seen a female pilot, which was pretty cool. No free wifi at the airport, which sucked big time. I was going to try and post before I left, but had to resort to using my iPhone to post which was a horrible experience. EDGE is god awful: see previous post. Another observation I have is that the TSA are way too scared over bottled water. They went ape-shit crazy over my bottled water, when all they had to do was toss it.
Plane Ride: there was turbulence throughout the entire flight, which is what the pilot suggested would happen. I got to enjoy a very expensive Jack & Coke ($5!!!). Got a little light reading done, but it was actually very hard to focus. We were in a tiny plane that was three seats wide. Luckily the flight was a little shorter than expected after the long delay before departure. Ashley did very well on the plane and only squeezed my arm every few minutes. She was very brave on the plane and I think she liked it, even though she was scared.
The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was ridiculous. No room at all to move in the van, elbow to elbow. Traffic is horrible and scares me. No cars stop to let others in; they just shoot into gaps when available. The driver is insane. He is always pumping the gas and he always cuts people off. Luckily we arrive to our hotel safe and sound. The hotel is nice, but I will go into greater detail of the hotel at another time. Gotta finish my bagel and get to sight seeing. Check my Flickr page for photos and thanks for looking in on my vacation.
