As those of you close to me know, I kind of fell into a new iPhone (you know, the one with 3G that everyone has been talking about). If you don’t know the story of why I purchased the new iPhone, I apologize, but you are out of the loop and you may never know. Anyways, one of my favorite things about the previous iPhone I had was the dock that came along with it. It’s not a necessity, but it keeps my desk clean and organized looking (I can dock my phone and see it from my seat when people call and it has a holder to keep it out of my way). Unfortunately, the new iPhone did not come with a new dock. Much to my dismay, I would have to buy a new one to fit my 3G iPhone… or would I? Not wanting to drop the $30 the new dock would run me, I took my old dock and borrowed my friend Keith’s Rotozip and performed a little modification on my old dock. After about thirty minutes of sanding the dock down, I was able to fit my 3G iPhone into my old dock and saved myself about $30. True, it’s not as polished and nice looking as a new dock would be, but I didn’t spend $30. Anyways I just thought I would share some pictures of it with you. I apologize for the bad photo quality as I was using my grandmother’s cheap point and shoot and I have terrible lighting in my room (which prompted me to use the flash and flash-bang everything).
