Times are still pretty tough right now in the Ville. Last night was quite difficult with no electricity and this morning wasn’t much better. On top of that, I didn’t really have a way to charge my cell phone, so I was constantly trying to conserve battery until today when I’d have a chance to charge it. Thankfully, the University of Louisville was still open and holding classes. It’s very thoughtful of them to hold classes while a huge part of the city is without electricity, many families are experiencing a scary time with trees falling through houses and onto cars, and with traffic being a nightmare since many roads are blocked and traffic lights are not working. Very thoughtful indeed.
I’m sorry, but some of the worst people run this university in my opinion. I understand that they want to hold classes and all of that, but there are times when you just have to cancel them. Seriously. Like in the last spring semester when we had a brutal snow and ice storm and it was quite dangerous to get out. Did the University of Louisville close down the school to help prevent traffic accidents or worry about the well being of the students? No. They delayed classes by an hour or two and held them anyway. Even with terrible and dangerous conditions, they still hold class. It’s quite frustrating, especially when all the public city schools are closed and a few colleges are closed. It just seems like they aren’t too worried about us, the students.
