I’m actually pretty ecstatic about this accomplishment. I walked last Thursday (December 18) to pick up my Bachelor of Science degree from the Computer Engineering and Computer Science department of the University of Louisville. Not only that, but I actually earned highest honors (Summa Cum Laude). Although it was quite special to have accomplished this, the best part of the night was probably spending time with family. Ashley had been up here since the first part of the week and on Thursday we were joined by her parents, my grandmother, my dad, my stepmother, and my little sister. We dined at J. Alexanders beforehand (excellent food) then spent time talking afterwards at the Galt House where my family had rooms. After the day came to a close, I was actually quite upset that it was finished. It was probably one of the happiest moments I’ve had all semester (only equaled by my engagement).
Now you may be asking, “What next?” The truth is, more school. During this last semester, I actually started my graduate work with two graduate courses. Next semester, I start a full-time graduate workload. Hopefully it won’t be too painful, but something tells me it will definitely become more challenging. I’m looking forward to starting on my thesis and the research that will accompany it. Unfortunately, this will mean even less spare time (which is already in short supply). Regardless of what happens, it truly is going to be an adventure.
To all those who have pictures of my graduation: send them to me. I want copies for myself as well as copies for posting online. Anyway, happy holidays to you and yours.
