New Washer and Dryer
Friday, May 23, 2008 at 02:56AM
Alright, screw all of you, I'm very excited about this. I got tired of running to the bank to withdraw $10 in quarters every time I needed to do laundry. So I bit the bullet and bought a nice washer and dryer for our apartment here that I could keep later on down the road as well.

These bad boys didn't cost too terribly much ($1300 with tax included). The washer is super quiet (I had to watch inside to see if it was actually working) and the dryer isn't too loud. I'm really happy with them so far (only did one load though, had to clean some clothes before we head off to New York, New York today) but I am pretty impressed with them. I will admit, the washer was a bitch to bring up the stairs though. It took me and Harv quite a while to figure out a way to get it up here. Eventually, as we were halfway up the stairs and could not get low enough to pick it back up to carry it, we just started lifting it end-over-end, flipping it on it's top and around again, to get it up the stairs. Probably not the preferred method, but hey, it got the job done. It's now in the laundry room, functioning great. Also, curse the man who invented rubber feet. Trying to move that big monster on linoleum was horrible, but some how we managed.
Well, I have to run to class for now. Check back throughout this Memorial Day weekend, as I will be posting from New York City. Wooooo, vacation!
