After my first class today, I decided to stop by Kroger on the way to my apartment. I needed to pick up some cheese and pepper (both of which we've been needing for quite a while, always forgetting to pick it up when shopping). So I'm walking through Kroger with my earphones in, listening to the Across the Universe soundtrack (top-notch, by the way) when this little old lady flags me down. At first I'm unsure if she's talking to me, but she's staring right at me and moving her mouth. I remove my earphones and she asks, "Do you work here?" "No," I reply. "Well, shoot. I thought you worked here." "Well, do you need help? Maybe it's something I can help you with." "Can you get two things of that peach yogurt for me?" It's then that I realize she was simply too short to reach the yogurt on the top shelf which was toward the back of the rack (none closest to the door). I retrieved the yogurt for her and she was so thankful for it. Glad to know that I was able to help someone out today, so at least I'm not a total waste for the day.
