Spam Comments

Well, I knew it couldn't last forever. Unfortunately I have been hit with the dreaded spam comments (not half as cool as the dread Pirate Roberts). Anyways, I have set up a spam comment filter (a plug-in for WordPress) that is supposed to help out. I have it activated and luckily, after eleven spam comments, it has caught on and started automatically canning the spam comments. So, if you write a comment and you've never commented before and it looks like spam, it will instantly be removed. If this happens, I apologize and you should email me to tell me and I'll un-spam it so that it will learn what is and isn't spam more properly. However, once I approve you as a commenter, your comments are automatically added, so to those of you who have already commented, you should be OK. Here is an example of what I've been getting the past forty-eight hours:

Unfortunately, I cannot really control what spam comments I get and as you can see, these are quite embarrassing. I would be horribly embarrassed if my grandmother actually logged onto my site and saw this filth. So be on the lookout in the coming weeks. I may be adopting new anti-spam comment methods very soon, depending on how well this solution works for me.

Spam is quite annoying.
