Uh-Oh!

Oh, that Vista! Last night, while I was trying to create a walkthrough on how to use the Windows backup program, SyncBack, I found that I needed to run quite a few Vista updates as it's been awhile since I've fired up my Windows partition. Unfortunately, after the updates were finishing up and my system required a reboot, I ran into a little bit of a problem. BSOD. Luckily, I was able to shut down the virtual machine and start it back up with no issues. I think it might have happened because I was running it through Parallels instead of running the updates while booted into Vista via Bootcamp. Either way, everything is fine now, although I did find it awesome that I was able to screen shot a BSOD.

I love how you bias it as Vista's fault. Upon further reading into your fine print i finally hear you say, "... it might have happened because I was running it through Parallels..."

Just another blogger talking about how bad vista is. Thanks Todd. Thanks.

Yeah, I crashed a ps3 game the other day. It was running like crap too.. slow and just barely able to push the graphics. Oh that ps3!! What a poor performer. Although it may have been because I was software emulating it on my Pentium 3 900 mhz machine...

It's funny that I'm catching so much crap over this. haha I actually like Vista and think it's alright. I was just pointing out the problem I was having. It's either Vista's fault (as in it was going to BSOD on me anyways) or it's Parallels fault in how it handles the shutdown. However, this is the first time I've actually had a shutdown issue with Parallels or with shutting down Vista natively (via Bootcamp). So that's why I didn't know if it was the update, although I've never updated using Parallels before, so that could have been the problem. Oh well. Either way, I still think Vista is pretty good.
